Strayer Redesign & Campaign
Project Summary
Strayer University (Strayer.edu) wanted to increase revenue from their undergrad degree programs, improve accessibility to WCAG AA standards, and fix catastrophic wayfinding problems. After a recent rebrand, our Digital Experience team worked with a digital agency to build redesigned page templates. My role as lead in-house designer was to make the website redesign a reality by taking page templates from the digital agency and applying them to the entire website. The primary goal was to increase leads through the website and boost enrollment through the laptop offer. The previous website was evaluated by our UX Researcher and was found to have catastrophic usability issues that we were able to fix along the way.
Working with the Digital Agency
The digital experience team at Strategic Education worked with Axis 41 (Merkle) to redesign the Strayer website.
The agency was tasked with building page templates.
The Design System
We organized all of our buttons, icons, typography into an Invision design system.
Scope
This was the largest site map I had worked on to date.
High Fidelity Design
I was the lead internal designer on the project and was tasked with applying those templates to the entire website.
I also supervised the resizing of each component to our breakpoints.
Solution
We heard from our UX Researcher that users didn’t know to scroll down likely due to the full-height hero image. With this redesign we shortened the height of the hero image and employed content scenting techniques to draw the user down the page.
We also achieved the WCAG 2.0 accessibility standard.
Post-Redesign Campaign Planning
After the redesign, we wanted to promote the latest campaign.
High Fidelity Design
This campaign uses painterly splashes and new photography. I flew out to the photoshoot to help supervise.
